Capper Issues
« on: September 08, 2022, 09:37:15 PM »
My capper is crushing the last 3 or 4 #11 caps (last inserted, closest to spring) as it's being used. Brand is a TDC. Any hacks for fixing this?

Thanks

I am completely shooting in the dark with this thought.... but I am thinking the holding spring at the front of the capper is more than partially blocking the lead cap from leaving the capper body to the holding position.

This is the capper I use.... Notice the black spring steel mounted on the nose of the capper body.

Keep shooting muzzleloaders - They are a blast!!

I am not familiar with or know what capper it is you have. Is it one that holds 75 caps? can you just not fill it up and then it won't crush the last 3 or 4? My musket capper holds 10 or 12 caps but I only put 4 or 5 in at a time. I only put in what I think I will need quickly in a hunting situation. Just a thought???

It holds about a dozen. Doesn’t matter if it’s entirely full or partially full I can count on the last few to get crushed as I feed them through. I’ll just get another one.
