Looking for Yogi? Passing along a good tip
« on: October 13, 2022, 06:32:14 PM »
My aunt lives in cle elum and works back and forth between Roslyn and Ronald. She said that Rosalind and Ronald have been getting overrun with black bear on a daily basis this year it's absolutely crazy I'm out more than they've ever seen most of it is night but they're getting lots of them wandering into town during the day too. She said she's hearing lots of reports from locals that they were running into them left and right out trying to hunt deer in the area. She said she saw two headed to work this morning in about a 3-mile stretch. Hope this helps somebody 👍

Isn’t there a lot of private land right in there?

Nowhere to legally hunt them, the tree hugging vacationers love the trash diving bears.

Bummer, I was up there last weekend and didn't spot a thing. I was quite a bit higher up than in town though...May try getting up there into the community forest and calling next weekend.

Did 6 call sets in the community forest yesterday and today, a few back closer to Roslyn but over the ridge of course. Not even a coyote. No fresh bear sign. Might try the central cascades forest land next weekend. It’s closer and I learned from a coworker Friday that it’s open to the public. Their maps kinda suck though on where the public access points are.

Gotta get my Rainshadow calls downloaded from the CD he sent in the Christmas exchange and onto the ICOtec. Bet that will help too!

I posted this just a day or two before the Rosalind fire it's likely that it pushed them all up in the way I just talked to her she said for the last week the bear sightings have been nothing like they were two weeks ago
