Local taxidermists that do in house tanning
« on: November 08, 2022, 12:30:00 PM »
My uncle just killed a bull on the coast and wants to get the hide tanned. A soft tan, hair on. I seem to remember a thread a while back that had a few western WA guys that did in house tanning but I cannot seem to find it. Any recommendations?

Spray on or bed?

Has to be bed. The spray on tans just turn me orange. Plus I'm a little on the hairy side, doesn't work great.   :yike:

Rick at Cedar River is fantastic, I've taken 3 skins to him, but he sends them out like most guys around here do. I don't have an issue with that, but Uncle would prefer a faster turnaround so seeing if there is someone local that does inhouse tanning. I remembered a place in Duvall mentioned before, Wildlife Obsessions must be it.

@BlackRiverTaxidermy Joel might do it.  Not sure why I think that.

Wildlife Obsession in Duvall does not do in-house tanning.

Little Willy’s  taxidermist in Buckley does all of his tanning in house. I’d give him a call for quality and quick turn around
