Took a friend out we found 3 more again today with our pups in couple hrs. All three were smaller 4 pts. One set one single.
If you shoot the first one you will never get that true trophy.

Anyone ever found a spike shed? Deer or elk doesn't matter. I've never come across one

I've found several spike elk sheds, one spike blacktail shed, and a spike mule deer shed.  The spike blacktail shed was in the road in a walk in area, only about a 3" shed, fits in the palm of the hand.  Lucky find! Spike sheds are a good judge of how sheddy your eyes are!

I found a bleached out muley spike a few years ago. My buddy found a spike elk. Both in the fall while out hunting.
Fish hard, hunt harder!

Found a set once
https://www.howlforwildlife.org/take_action  It takes 10 seconds and it’s free. To easy to make an excuse not to make your voice heard!!!!!!

I have a spike from up by Newport I found one year when I was about 17. It's two inches long and about an inch across. I was climbing a ridge that was pretty steep but I figured I would get a good view from a granite rock the size of a van I could see up above me. I was climbing and found a hillside trail bench with a nice rock to sit on and put my head down between my legs for a second and there it was! Lol! The area was known for heavy antlered bucks. It's a neat little button point.

The year of the average 4 pt in north Idaho, another one in the books… Wouldn’t find half my sheds without my aussie.

That's a very cool shed TeacherMan! I'm envious of your snow-free ground, I'm can't even get in to my areas yet. Keep posting your finds, I'm living vicariously through you  :chuckle:
