Gun Shops north of Seattle
« on: March 17, 2023, 08:14:46 AM »
I am in Kenmore for a couple days and may be purchasing a rifle from another member. Any good shops between Seattle and Marysville to do the transfer if the deal works out? Somewhere with reasonable pricing for the transfer? Also, any shops worth checking out just to look around at used guns or reloading supplies? I’m not much into the tactical stuff, just hunting rifles and shotguns. Thanks for any input!

Wade's Eastside Guns in Bellevue does transfers, and they usually have a large inventory.

DJ's Loan in Bothell.

My 1st choice would be Sound Loan in Everett, but they are quite a ways from Kenmore.

Sound Loan is the best around, $15 fee on long guns, $25 on pistols. Friendly and they get you out of there quick. Great selection of rifles as well. Open till 2pm Sat, M-F they take lunch from 1-2pm and don't want to do transfers during that time, but no appointment needed and the friendliest people in the industry. Jeff owns the place and is a great fisherman.

DJs in bothell for pawn shop finds.

Woodinville has Securite (shop and indoor range) or Precise Shooter (shop)

Precise Shooter in Woodinville is pretty easy to get to from Kenmore and reasonably priced for transfers. They also have a half way decent selection of reloading supplies.
I think DJ’s is permanently closed. Tried to go there a couple of times in the last couple of months and it has been closed. There was a sign with some odd hours (10-1) up for a while.
My interpretation of the rules are open to interpretation.
Once I thought I was wrong but I was mistaken.

Awesome, I appreciate the info! Sound loan was on my radar for the transfer, since the seller is in marysville. Hard to beat $15, some outfits I saw online were at $50+, and I usually pay $20-30 around Spokane.

Last time I was at Sound Loan, he was remodeling the shop, got rid of all non-gun stuff, Jeff said DJ's was going to close so he was expanding to serve the gun community.

you really need to pop by DJ's.

Have not been there is a few years, but assuming nothing has changed and it is still a fun place with lots of inventory.

I made it over to sound pawn yesterday. It’s a nice shop and they processed the transfer really quick. Thanks again for the suggestions!

Sound Loan switched over to just guns. Jeff and Kathy are top notch people.
Fast and accurate.

One of the best for gun transfers.

Outdoor adventure sports is a good shop in Lynnwood. They dont have the biggest amount of inventory but have some very nice unique items.

Could be true, but any advice on gun shops that do transfers with reasonable fees are still worthy of discussion.  There seem to be fewer of them all the time.

South Sound Guns in Lacey used to do free transfers.  I think they charge now but still reasonable.  I don't go there much since they moved, they unfortunately look like they've turned into every other local gun shop around here, with little inventory and what they do have is pretty much all AR related.

I really like DJ's, lots of interesting inventory and very reasonable prices.  Went in there the first time 2 years ago in my search for a stainless "bad weather" rifle and not having much luck in my area.  Lo and behold they had a brand new M70 extreme weather in 30-06 sitting in the middle of the rack.  Bummer if they're planning on closing.  I don't get to make it up there much between their weird hours and the fact that I have to drive up through that traffic mess to get there.  Aside from a couple pawn shops, Pinto's gets most of my business since I think the owners are into the same stuff I'm into (classic hunting rifles and big bore stuff).
you can still get gas in heaven, and a drink in kingdom come,
in the meantime, i'll be cleaning my gun
