The Train still go by, luckly I didn't stay at the resort, I stay at a cabin over at Davenport and just drove over which only took us like 30min., They did renovate the Lake a couple years ago, all I know is that the Trout there now are BIG, I was helping my buddy net one up when I looked over at my rod and the thing almost flew into the Lake, FISH ON, by the time I got to it the fish got tangle under the dock and by the time my other friend got there to try to net the monster up, it dove down and broke the line, I lost 2 Big ones just like that. You will need a net here. I was using 10lbs Power Pro for main and 8lbs-18" leader with Power bait and nightcrawlers. Your Rod will double over when you hit one of the big ones here.

Its really sad what they did to that lake.  Now its just another stocker trout lake in an area that has trout lakes everywhere!

Great catch. Looks like you were having too much fun-(ya right).I walleye fished there like crazy and had a blast the last two years. After they killed all the fish last fall I have to drive all the way up to lake Roosevelt just to fish for walleye. Sorry but I just do not like to eat trout although they are fun to catch.

I dont personally like eating the fresh planters(the little 8-10"ers) either but when you get big holdovers like those they are usually pink meat and very tasty, if you do it right they can almost have a salmon flavor to em

That sting sure looks a lot better then a bunch of stockers.
If those are "stockers" More lakes around here should be filled with "stockers"  like that lol.
Great pics Cruzer, sounds like a great time.
thanks

So did they kill all the spinny rays in the lake?

Initially, then they replanted bass, crappie, catfish, etc. along with the trout.

I feel your pain Teach.  Just when I finally had them figured out, they kill 'em all.  :bash:  Oh well, still got the cats.  Might be headed out there Sunday with the family.
