Thinking about hitting the river in the morning with the kiddos, but don't really want to combat fish. Might try the 96th bridge by Sumner Sportsman's Club. Has anyone fished up that high and had any luck yet? Everything I've heard is about the lower river being hot, so I dont want to waste the time being too high.
96th St bridge is Alderton.
That was my go to instead of the crowds downtown Puyallup.
Plenty of fish in there.

Is this considered the "East Main Bridge to Carbon River CRC (804)" in the regs? I think I'll get my son out this week and see if we can catch some salmon.

As far as I can tell, the regs are the same for the whole river below the Carbon now. It used to be you could fish above Main St. on the closure days. Now it says everything is closed up to the Carbon on Sun-Tuesdays. Unless I'm missing something.

I believe that is correct and the Carbon doesn't open until September.

This is correct, the E Main Bridge, is the bridge by Mama Stortinis in Sumner.

I don't know why they closed fishing this year above E Main Bridge on Sundays - Tuesdays.  I've never seen the Native Americans net up there.  So it's not a conflict prevention thing between sport fishermen and the Native Americans, like it is on the lower river.

Great time to take a kid and teach them how to river fish.  Crazy good right now.
I'll be taking another kid on Friday for his first time on the river.

Agreed, took my kids tonight and my 8 yo caught his first salmon. Fun watching him go from thinking he had a snag to fighting his first little pink.
