A few photos from the camera.  Check out the hunters in the last few.  Had to move the cam so they did not come back with bolt cutters or a chain saw.

Cool pictures, thanks for sharing. Does that first picture of the cow elk have a tumor or growth on the front of its chest?

you cant eat the horns, but backstraps look like crap on my wall!!!!

I thought the same thing and spoke with DFW biologist about it.  His thought is that it is a cyst and sent me a link about it.

It says the meat is safe, but I still would not shoot it.

You would probably find a broken arrow / broadhead in the growth.  I shot a cow once that had a huge growth on it's back and low and behold it was a cyst/puss pocket where an arrow hit the elk and didn't kill it.  Cut around it and it taste great. 

Oh yeah, I killed it with archery equipment so I am not hating on archers.   Sometimes things happen.
