Really confused here. You won't hunt because of his poor decisions? Is he the only human you know? Sounds as though there is more going on here than just 'hunting partners'. Really, it does. Find some new areas and enjoy.

Like the article said cost is a big reason people are not staying with the sport. Too expensive to pay 100% cost scouting and round trips over 200 miles to the blind as the average person.  Plus hunting alone is dangerous and boring. Kicking people out of groups with no reason explained to work things out only complicates to the problems the article points out is all. Also been about 3 years trying to find new.  Yes he was the only hunter that I know and getting into new groups is about impossible in the hunting world. Obviously there is more going on but I know nothing as well. 🤣

Please don’t be confused like my former hunting partner is, if our sport hunting keeps losing popularity at this rate could cause us to lose it forever.

Not buying it. I can literally ask, out loud at work, who wants to go hunting, and have a partner in seconds. Do it many times every season. Jst ask here.

On east side looking for waterfowl buddy.  I’ve tried at my work and if you don’t have anything to offer like me you are out of luck. 😒. That former guy used our spot to get new spots and made it to be my fault why I couldn’t hunt their spots with them making new friends. Horrible to keep our sport alive and wish my former hunting partner took your advice.

Our sport is losing popularity according to the delta read. Let’s not lose focus about the facts. Unfortunately sharing experiences have to be told for proof but unfortunately are often misunderstood. If I was the only one our sport would be getting healthier everyday.

I don't know. Seems more crowded then ever these days when I go hit public lands. Not to mention the booming corn pond duck factories.  :dunno:

The delta read talks there is not much to back up the baby boom unfortunately.  Also from my experience I’ve lost 10’s of thousands of acres of public hunting land due to development or shutdown.  So basically the hunters are getting crunched together causing many like me getting pushed and priced out.

You are in eastern Washington. The Columbia river is massive and holds a lot of birds. Go find your spot.

Those blinds I grew up in over there are now a 400 mile round trip for me. Tried the vaccination weeks over the years but could never hit it right because have to bid a year out.  That reminds me once how hard it was to get first week on hunting seasons (deer/elk) but today those weeks now go almost vacant at my work.

Well, sounds as though you are doomed with no resolution in sight. Take up golf and enjoy.

Still early but I did what you said and ask with no interest from others.  Not easy like I said because this is not my first rodeo.  Just showing how hard it is for a solo to start today.  We forget because how much easier it was for us back then instead of putting ourselves in their shoes.

Anyways we need to stick together instead of giving up on others in our sport.

You better call or write Delta and say they are wrong. I post again and thank for not being harsh, cruel, and upset like my former hunt partner is about his misunderstandings. https://deltawaterfowl.org/waterfowl-hunter-numbers-continue-to-decline/

Not going to be interesting watching how this new agency might work on todays sad news.  Unfortunate too many act spoiled and privileged towards others politically on their side and this is what we all get.
