Alkali bull tag
« on: January 02, 2024, 07:48:46 AM »
Did a quick search on here and only came up with antlerless. Anybody have any past experience with the bull tag? Good, bad, or ugly? Is there a limited number of people that can help you?

I had the alkali B cow tag and I can say that out of 8ish full days of hunting we saw 1 single bull that threw a mature rack which wasn't very impressive. We saw about a dozen raghorn bulls in a group. Around 2 to 4 years old. Not likely any true spikes, they were all the goofy spikes with kickers around the bases

Access is the biggest issue. Had the bull tag this year and it was very frustrating, didn’t even hunt the first week and got lucky when they opened a few units later in the season. Plenty of elk but they have to be where you can hunt them.

As long as they have their Recreation card (background check and safety class). You can have as many people as you want during and after the hunt. You can go in 2 hours before light and I believe stay until 2 hours after. I know they allow more if you are working on an animal.
