Back From Montana
« on: November 20, 2007, 02:03:58 PM »
We had a fun trip. We seen a lot of bucks and bulls. The smaller bucks were rutting pretty good and the bigger bucks were just getting starting. The weather was a little warm up to the last day. The morning we were leaving we woke up to 4 inches of snow and it was still coming down. To bad the snow didn't come about four days earlier. The snow sure made for a slow and long drive home.

I shot my buck out of a herd with about 30 doe and 7 bucks. The wind was blowing pretty good and the doe were getting a little nervous. i did not have very long to size up all the buck and decided this one was ok. He dropped with the shot and it was over. Of course over the next couple of days we seen some bigger bucks. A 24" 4X4, a 26" 3X4 and a 27"-28" 4X5. I guess there is always next year.

My buck as he lay

Big bull shed my friend found. There were big bulls all over.

The weather change.

The trailer by the time we got to St Regis for dinner. A big ice ball.

sounds like a lot of fun with a great buck to boot.

Nice buck Craig. We must have just missed the bad weather. 3 of the days we hunted last week were 71 degrees...........rf
