west klickitat tag info.
« on: June 12, 2009, 08:38:24 PM »
I drew a klickitat tag 3pt. or better from dec.1-8, and was wondering what you guys think I should expect. I am working there now between troutlake and glennwood but come dec. i think you would have to be riding babe the blue ox to access where I am now. this is a muzzleloader tag so I am fairly confident that I will atleast have some decent oppurtunity.
go ahead on er.

the rattlesnake area is a great area to hunt. Couple miles up the rd from underwood. I will have to look at a map to tell you where we hunted but I know if I was a better shot with the old 58 cal that I was shooting I had a chance a two different 4 points that where way better than average size. It used to be a late general tag. I suppose they took that away also.

Hunted it a few years ago and seen some nice blacktails but have no clue what the area we hunted is called.  :bash: I'll see if my buddy remembers.

Like Red Dawg said, they take some really good bucks in the Rattlesnake Drainage. A few other spots to consider...Dead Canyon, Beeks Canyon and the breaks of the Klickitat, Major Canyon, and Catherine Creek.

My dad drew that tag so we will be down there hunting too.  I think its going to be a tough hunt, hopefully there will be some snow by that time.

90% of the bucks will be out of the rut but there are a handful of nice bucks up there to be had.
