HB2118 - This Will End Small Business FFL's
« on: February 28, 2024, 09:38:55 PM »

Say goodbye to your favorite FFL because your state legislature is about to run them all out of business.  Washington Gun Law President, William Kirk, discusses HB 2118, whic passed last night out of the Senate and now heads back to the House for reconciliation.  There were some friendly amendments, that might save a few, but the truth remains that this bill, which is now clearly headed to the Governor's desk, will kill the FFL industry.  So learn what all of this means and arm yourself with education today.

The few small FFLs left in this state will just close up shop and relocate. I know of 3 that are in the pre planning phase...
This has nothing to do with reducing violence... just controlling legal means to obtain firearms...
In the last 4-5 year's of gun "control" legislation violent gun crimes have skyrocketed...and over 90 percent of those are committed by people that aren't allowed to own or possess firearms in the first place..
This State is dumb....

That's the entire point of the law. They can't outright ban guns because of the Second Amendment, but they will try and do everything they can to make it as difficult as possible.

The whole bill craps on the Constitution...
The real interesting part is the audio requirements... Washington is a two party consent State..
You have to be told your being recorded....so who's going to buy firearms even from big box stores knowing your conversation is being recorded...
Are the guys/ gals working the gun counter at Sportsman's going to be wearing body cams..

Just mimd blowing what Dems think is legitimate to accomplish their goals..

It’s hard not to feel under attack all the time.

The link to the bill is now a 404.

I watched a few min of the video, but never got a clear list of what this is.

Is there a brief summary of what will happen with this one?

It has not passed yet. It's heading back to the House with an amendment. There's still a chance...

Kinda goes against the "shall not be infringed" part of the Bill of Rights...

Just a little

I can think of a few cities that have codes preventing things like bars on windows, grates, steel doors on the front facing the street. This state requirement would conflict with those.  Dems must want the business areas to further look like crime ridden slums.

Seems like a simple situation...  law says FFL must have bars.  City says no bars allowed.  ergo, no FFL.

Welcome to My Little Russia, WA state!  Thanks, ALL you voters who cast for D's!!  They've been operating like this for decades.

You can be "exempt" from this bill if you sell less then one firearm a month!!   Let that sink in!! :o

Just a little

It also goes against the "Shall not be impaired" part of the WA state constitution
What country can preserve it's liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon & pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants.

anymore there's not many firearms that fall under $1000. So your business is only allowed to sell one firearm a month?

Since it affects all gun stores in Wahington it might happen. Counties n eastern Washington have judges that aren't closet nazi party members.

If I need a permit and education to buy a firearm than women should need a permit and education  before getting an abortion.

I think the thing that’s most infuriating to me, aside from our 2nd amendment rights constantly being chipped away, is that this will only affect small businesses trying to make an honest living. Meanwhile legitimate criminals are being turned back onto the street on a daily basis because they pick and choose which laws they want to enforce. And you can bet your ass this will be one they choose to enforce. That is if there’s any FFL’s left in WA…

All these legislative "laws" are ways to "get" guys that otherwise are minding their own business.
Transfer laws, storage laws, mag cap law's etc...they aren't being charged on the multiple shootings that occur everyday in Washington.... it's just feel good legislation to have in their back pocket when they want to go after the average pro 2a guy/gal when nothing else will stick.

They are also using all these laws as deterrents to owning a gun. They want it so complicated that many will just give up. Certainly as shooters pass , family will just say it’s not worth the trouble and slowly but surely Gun ownership will fade away.
