Below is what I sent
I see multiple stories about cougar encounters by the public on the evening news
Id love to see commentary and investigation by the news team about the ongoing Washington game commission harvest reduction proposals being considered in regards to reducing legal hunting seasons and bag limits on cougar and black bear
If these proposals are implemented there will be more cougar and bear encounters and possible injuries and attacks
Thank you
Below are my comments sent to the game commission as well
There are plenty of bears (watch evening news)
They are in peoples yards and bird feeders constantly and are the one of the main predators of elk and deer young calves and fawns
Cougars are elusive but again minimal harvest already without hound hunting and cats prey heavily along with wolves on our dwindling ungulate species
I hope it doesn't take more citizens and children being attacked and or killed to help you understand the need for predator control by licensed legal hunting
