49degrees north moose? Down

I was lucky enough to be drawn for moose in the 49 degrees north unit. Was wondering if anyone had any info on where to start looking for them. I,ve hunted turkey in that unit alot but have never seen moose so any info would help.

Pretty much the entire unit holds moose.  You just need to pick whether you want to shoot one close to a road or not or what your style of hunt is.

Get yourself a good current map and look for road closures.   There are quite a few.  Not as many as the Selkirk.  You have tons of public land.  You'll have a good hunt.  On your scouting trips, pay more attention to terrain, logging, feed etc, and not worry about seeing moose.  They are very nocturnal in teh summer.  Look for moist areas.

I will do that. If you were drawn in 49 degrees would you have any certain roads you would start your search on?

Spend some time looking between Fourth of July Mountain/Little Calispell Peak and Calispell Peak.

Your in for a quality hunt. I know of a bull I called in last year that was too small to shoot. I don't know how much they grow each year, but I bet he's still there. He had 4 cows and a little dejected bull with him. EZ to find, and nice camping area too.

Gletty Creek, just north of the Flowery Trail Road, has a BUNCH of moose and some really nice bulls.
