I passed up a 28” 3 pt on day 2 and regretted it.  Hunted hard and never saw bigger than 170” four point which I almost got.  Funny thing was I needed to check rifle after a fall so setup on edge of road on bipod and was just getting ready to squeeze off on rock 700 yards down in the clearcut when the biggest buck I’d seen stepped into the scope view.  Billion to one odds I was too startled to shoot in that fraction of a second - had it paused a 1/4 second I would have had a miracle story.

Tagging along to see how this turns out.  Best of luck!

Good luck.
Think I talked with you, we were in a SxS. Did you see a 2x4? I got fairly good pics of it.

Yep,
I saw the 2x4.  One of the 2 mature bucks we saw.  We saw him two different days in that same area with 7-8 does.  Daughter thought I should shoot it, until we saw our second mature buck on the trip the next day, which was bigger.  Then she wanted me to shoot that one.  Its horns were tall and at least 2" wider than the ears, but I couldn't get past the crab claw on the front right side.  Can't wait to get back over there.

Neither of these 2 would be shooters for me, but kinda odd/cool to be a 2x4.

1 more of the 2x4, and a "lucky" rabbit foot in a small tree. Unlucky for the bunny though :chuckle:

Had the tag in 2016 and saw a big wide slick two by two, don't think there was so much as a bump anywhere else on either antler. Actually thought about shooting it because it was so wide, and the fact nobody else could shoot it with an OTC tag. Let him walk and shot a four point later in the day. Best of luck and have fun this tag is a hoot to have!
