Well after 27 years I finally drew a bull tag!! I drew the Mt Whittier muzzy bull it’s been probably 20 years since I’ve been in that country!! Time to lace the boots up tight and take my old self in there and do some scouting/learning should be a great time!!!!

Bring 3 or 4 fit guys to help you pack. It’s a climb out of there.
Beautiful country!
Congrats

Great tag! You'll have a blast and will see a lot of bulls. And when I say a lot, that's an understatement. Getting your bull out of there is just plain work, and lots of it. This was already said, but you'll need some good help that's readily available.

On all my trips in there for blacktail and photography, I can pack in and stay 4-days. For the most part, there's plenty of water coming out of the rocks and plenty of natural seeps. You just need to mark the areas and save them for reference. These areas also assist in keeping your meat cooler and allow you an extra day to get it out.

I've only packed out deer from there and only helped pack out a friends bull a few years back. The few bucks I did get, along with camp took me (2) trips. We packed out my friends bull and his camp with (5) people in 1-trip, but it could be done with (4), but the packs will be pretty heavy.

Have fun and congratulations!!!

I’ve looked back at old posts on this hunt. I have been putting in Eastern Washington for ever. That hunt would turn me to the West Side just to do it.
I would be a pack mule for you if I wasn’t going to archery in Montana

Good Luck

If you have a small boat with an electric motor, don't be afraid to use it. My son drew mudlfow this year and we were up there last night. Lots of elk around already. I live about a half hour from Coldwater and know the area well. Reach out if you have any questions.

Did WDFW give you an option at a different tag? Sounds like this is happening for folks in your situation.... If they didn't, i would be calling.
