SxS in a Cargo Trailer
« on: July 16, 2024, 01:28:31 PM »
For you cargo trailer, SxS haul’n sons a guns…

My Tyrex sits just under 74” from the ground to top of roll cage. Thinking at a minimum I’ll need a trailer with an 80” tall opening. Obviously I’ll need to make arrangements to test fit the SxS prior to purchasing but if someone could chime in that might save me some time and gas by not looking at those with shorter ramp door openings.

Thanks

I’ve got a Cell Tech 7x16. It’s awesome. Has a 7ft tall door. I fit my Pioneer 520 in there with lots of room

This is what I have, very happy with their brand/build. I turned mine into a hunt camp trailer too....SxS comes out beds/table fold down, along with cabinets and countertops.
I believe mine has 78" of clearance, but they also have an add on package with 84"

Nice units. Checked local dealers near me and what I’m looking for is sold out and on back order.

Mine is a tight fit. The trailer came before the sxs. One thing to think about is the height of the floor in relation to the length of your ramp can really help or hurt you as far as what can fit.

Go over the wheels. Do not trim yourself short. You can't get in and out. Don't put a bunch of unnecessary do dad stuff on your roof or lighted whips and all that crap. It just gets destroyed unless you're a 100% duner. Which nobody around here is.

I do a ton of towing all over the northwest, I have three enclosed trailers. One of them I've only had for two years, it is the narrowest, shortest, lightest, and with an aluminum frame, so you would think I would get fairly good mileage with it, but I don't get as good of fuel mileage as with my middle sized trailer which is about four feet longer, a foot wider, and heavier due to being older and having a steel frame. The shortest trailer, the one I'm least happy with has only a slight v in the front, both my larger trailers have about 5 foot V's and seem to cut the wind a lot better, at least that's the best reason I can come up with for why I get less fuel mileage with the shorter and lighter trailer. Also the shorter trailer is only 7 feet wide, there's less room for getting doors open to get out after loading a UTV and less room walking around UTV's in the trailer.

In the future I will only buy a trailer that has a good v-nose and is 8 feet wide.  :twocents:
