Michelin Defenders-current set going on 85,000 miles and still a little left in em. Makes no sense to me to buy tires that are best for the driving you do 5% of the time (off road or snow)  and only get 30-40,000  miles on em.

I strongly disagree, anything will get you down the road on dry pavement. When things get nasty up in the mountains is when you need a good tire the most, I'll happily sacrifice some mileage in order to not be severely handicapped when I'm in a hairy situation. Chains are great but they have their limitations.

No need to compromise on traction.   I have run BFG Mud Terrains on my rigs since the 90's. With rotation every 5k, I get 60k plus out of them and they still have decent tread when I move to the next set.  I do have a Summer set and a Winter set for my daily driver.  Newer tire gets run during late Fall through mid Spring.  Set with less tread gets run the warmer months of the year. When that set is worn down, I put a new set on those rims and now they become the "Winter" set.

Put a new set of Goodyear Wrangler Boulder MT on my Jeep JLUR back in March.  I haven't bought a set of Goodyear's in at least twenty years but I'm really liking these new Boulder MT's.  They're a pretty stout tire and I was a little concerned the ride quality would be like a lumber wagon but I was pleasantly surprised with how good the ride quality is with these things.

I ran Cooper AT3’s on my F150 and absolutely loved them. Got 60k out of them too. I’ve also run Copper STT Pro’s which were also pretty good. Running Nitto Ridge Grapplers right now. I like them so far and they are pretty quiet. I only have 7k on them so too soon to tell about tire life and how they do in ice/snow.

Been on falken wild peak at/3 for almost 3 years and 2 hunting seasons. Zero issues with them. Quiet on pavement. Work good off pavement.

I had these and the wore out right after the warranty.  And they are a heavy tire.  I just switched to the toyo open country at3.  So far they seem good we will see how they do this winter.  And they are almost 6lbs lighter then the falkens..

you all should specify vehicles.  Diesel trucks 60k is great, on toyota its horrible.  Just saying.  I had good luck with Toyo at's and now Falkens doing great-Cummins trucks.

2007 Duramax CC. Have ran KO2’s and loved them but last year went with a set of the BFG K/T HD’s. I have about 20k on them and so far really like them. Have ran BFG KM3’s and they were good until you hit ice but if you have them sipped they do really good in the ice. Cooper  ST Maxx’s are good tires and sell a lot of them to logging company’s. Ironically when we did the Michelin/BFG/Uniroyal off road driving school one of tires they ran was a Michelin defender and it actually surprised the heck out of everyone. Personally I wouldn’t run the Nitto or the Toyo’s but that is because I have been to the Michelin/BFG/Unitoyal factory and the other factories and there is no comparison. I am awaiting the KO3’s in my size and they will be going on my truck to see how they do

- 60k +: 99 Powerstroke - crew cab, short box, with a canopy.  35x12.5 load range E. On my 3rd set.
 - 70k +:  Nissan Hard Body regular cab with canopy, 33x9.5 load range d(3 sets), Nissan Pathfinder 33x10.5 load range D (2 sets), Nissan Frontier crew cab short box with canopy, 255/85x 16 load range E ( 1 set  down, 2nd and 3rd set in rotation)

I bought a 16 Explorer off of a customer that needed a bunch of work. It has Falken Wild peaks on it. They’re terrible. Can’t get them to not vibrate. I assume it’s probably because of lack of maintenance and they’re cupped or something but really don’t know. Tried road force, match mounting, etc. I took the wheels and tires off of my other Explorer and put them on this one just to make sure. Also spun the wheels to make sure they’re not bent and it’s definitely the tires. They have a bunch of tread left on them so I can’t talk myself into replacing them, but if i end up with an extra $1000 burning a hole in my pocket, I might.
Can’t wait to get rid of them.

The Ford has worn  a slide in camper and/or boat or dump trailer or dump trailer with 9k excavator About 10% of the time in the past.   Maybe more like 30% to 50% of the time now that it is the "Go Play" truck .  But now I will not likely wear out tires again on it.  They will age out before I get to 50% tread.  I will sell them with life left in them and replace with new.

I’ve got the Les Schwab brand back country tires. Diesel 250, tow quite a bit and a lot of gravel and off road. No joke I got 100k on my last set. I’ll say it again, 100,000 miles. Made me a believer, thought my records must be wrong when I swapped them out but sure enough, 100k.
