Good for you. Where did you find one?
Have you ever read the book "Snakefoot: The making of a champion" by Wehle. Its worth the read. He was ruthless when he was making his kennels breed stock.

A male pup will be from rockdove! After several years of research with emails and phone calls to breeders! Some were awesome some not so much! Sadly none worked out for various reasons no pups available etc... Yes I have both of Wehle's book and they are good reads! Do you have a pointer?

I've had four Pudelpointers. Great all around dogs. Mine have close to the style of your pointers but English Pointers are hard to beat in the style department when on point.

I have hunted behind 2 pudelpointers… The 1st was very nice and quite productive! We had a great hunt with my pointer and his pudelpointer! Both dogs were productive and intense on birds! The others owner was to caught up in trying to keep him close as in 30feet not yards but feet! So the poor dog could not function without checking with his owner and that was not impressive but I put that on the owner not the dog! He didn’t like my pointer ranging out in open cover even after she pinned birds at 100 yds away! She held until I released her! So our different hunting styles means we don’t hunt together!

100yds? That fella would go insane when I loose mine to range 250-300yds! They love to cover ground as pointers should. Me don't

Oh she could range out much farther and often did! Especially if another dog was down with her!! When she was young she was 500yards and often pulling away … unless I reined her in but with age she developed into a comfortable 100-200yd range and adjusted that range in heavy cover! She always held birds if she pointed them! She was an amazing bird dog and liked to retrieve never lost a bird with her! She even did retrieve in ice cold water…. Had to get her back to the Jeep to dry her off and warm her up! I’m comfortable with 300 yds in open cover as long as the dog will hold bird until I get there to flush it! However I guess some people just don’t trust their dog? To each his own
