Thats what scares me to. I havent run a GM gasser like this, but have run Fords at work. Not a fan of how they rev when pulling. Always puts me on edge hearing an engine whine like that when pulling a load. But it seems like these 6.6l gassers are built for it. Maybe I could adapt! :chuckle:

Used to have a fleet of various model trucks when I was a PM/estimator/construction. The GM 8.1L was the only old torque monster. A friend of mine got a 7.3 gasser Ford and loves it. I haven't driven one yet. I had a half ton 6.2L Chevy i got when my f 350 was stolen right before covid and it was a beast. Towed our artic fox trailer fine but the suspension was way too light for it. I made two trips hauling stuff home from California. I sold it during the covid crisis after using it to tow my car trailer back and forth from fall city yo montana when I moved here. Put 70k on it that year almost all towing. It was a great truck and still my favorite pick up ive ever owned.

Pretty much decided I am going to stick with a diesel. Probably a low mileage 2020 or newer. Drove a nice 2020 High Country. Nice truck, but seats were hard as a rock. Slight vibration in rear. Vibrations scare me. Ive had some that you cant get rid of. Others are pretty easy to fix. Also drove 2020 LTZ. I felt like the seats are more comfy. Of the half dozen we drove. This one was the smoothest, nicest riding. A ton of Canadien trucks out there. Drove a beautiful 22 High Country. 18,00 miles. Stiff ride. Might just need the tires aired down a few pounds. Out of Canada. Out of consideration. Have a list of a few others to look at. Actually have preference of a couple colors and prefer a non black interior so pretty slim pickens. But a few out there. Found what looks like a dandy LTZ with everything we want. Way out of state, but if everything aligned could be very tempting.

I am putting the final touches on my dads 2005 GMC Sierra 2500HD SLT 6.6L crew cab 8' bed, 1 owner.  Will be posting here soon.  Beautiful truck, well maintained.  Too much truck for what I need and wife says I can't have 2 trucks.

Carfax and dont buy any truck from Canada. Most are used coming out of the oil patch. The beat the hell out of them. I looked at one last year and the frame was rusted front to back and had rock dings and dents all over the underside.

All the seats are hard 2020 up. They suck. They'll break in at about 70k miles or, you get used to it. Not sure which

Definitely ruled out all trucks from Canada.
The seats in the wife's Sorrento are really hard. But are the most comfortable car seats i think I've sat in.

Still say our 2002 chevy 2500 seats are most comfortable

Can confirm. My older bro had that truck, very comfortable. My 03 S-10 has a very comfy "sitting in" rather then "on top" feeling too.

On the flip side, the bucket seats in his 95 Tacoma felt like they were made out of soft plywood with a sheet or 2 of cardboard for padding with some fabric sewn over.
