Methow Wildlife Area Shooting Range
« on: October 07, 2025, 07:46:52 AM »
Can anybody provide any intel on the setup at the WDFW range in Winthrop? Are there stands already there to mount paper targets, or does one need to bring their own stands? I've hunted over there my whole life but never shot at this range. We typically sight in on the west side before heading over, but my plans to do that tonight were dashed when I saw Kenmore is closed on Tuesdays. My last gasp will be to go here on Friday.

Appreciate any insight!

I haven't been in a few years, but we used to go every summer and we would always find something workable for a stand that was left by someone else.

Friday at the range is likely to be a complete zoo. I'd count on bringing your own Target stand. There are good berms at 50, 100, 200 and 300 yd. There are benches available but only a few stools so I would also bring your own chair

Appreciate the info. I was afraid of it being busy

Range is freshly redone and in great shape. It was real busy last Friday. Plenty of stands, most people did not bring their own that day.

Shooting burms looked really good.  Was over last month and was going to sight in my rifle, but it was closed due to fire danger.
Cut em!
It's not the shells!  It's the shooter!
