They use to recommend no lower than 3 1/2 lb. I use to ask the gunsmith to set mine at 3 and he would look at me like Obama was just elected to the Presidency!!!

I know of home trigger job that resulted in the gun going off everytime the safety was taken off

My Marlin has the "Happytrigger' kit from Wild West Guns in Anchorage. They advertise 2-3lbs. It's like taping a light switch that's already halfway on/off..Too light for gloves though..
