The first Moose tags.
« on: Today at 10:01:18 AM »
Just curious if there are any folks on here that had one of the early moose tags and from the beginning when Washington started the permit drawing and their stories.
I was fortunate to draw one in 1993. I was 25 years old. In those days you had send in $150.00 with a return refund if not drawn. (Still wish it was that way)
I remember saving aluminum cans to afford the entry fee. Ha!
I drew the Mt Spokane unit. It sure has changed since I drew that tag. I enjoy reading the OIL stories.
My dad was with me (since passed) I had my bull located from scouting and was done at 7:00am opening morning.

Well that sucks!! Was that a Selkirk or Mt Spokane moose? I can’t remember between the two which offered the first tag. Did he at at least get pics?
It would be cool to see the first moose tag notched in Washington.

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

I think it was, I believe it was 1 permit and I thought it was 1990. That was a long time ago so my brain might be a bit off.
$5 is a lot of money if you ain't got it
