My CJ7 has been our hunting rig since I was a kid. I learned how to drive in it on logging roads. Took my drivers test in it. When I was in the Army, I flew home from GA and drove it 3,522 miles back. Still have it.

I have to say that the Nissan and Jeep are probably some the "best" hunting rigs - I definitely don't think that they fall into the "worst" category.

Well get that damn coffee can sized muffler off the back and you might be able to haul an elk out!!

Last year we had a problem with our 2002 f-250 crew cab. 7.3 diesel. Way too heavy. they like wallering in the mud. they are like pigs, big and heavy. we were going up around a switch back at 4 in the morning for the late hunt. it was 6-7 inches of mud and the back end just got sucked into the ditch. It was either that or flying over a 50ft revene. we chose the ditch and the back end got burried in the mud in the hillside and mud was sliding onto and in the back. Had a heck of a time trying to chain up.

Not saying its a bad hunting rig. lots of room. just not that good for deep mud and snow unless you got chains.

Let about half the air out of the tires, makes a HUGE difference offroad.
