That's one heck of a buck there, Shane. Thanks for posting these - they bring back memories of when I was some monster mulies in Colorado. Were the Mule Deer in Rocky Mountain National Park? I know you said the elk were photographed there, so I was wondering if that was also the mulie's hangout. I'd love to be able to get to RMNP in September for the elk rut.
use the boneaddicts math to figure out his spread............I think it works pretty good...........
Since the buck has only one ear out, I can only use boneaddict's math to find the width of one side of the antlers. Using his math I get 106.25 units from the center of the head to the outside of the ear. Similarly, I get 156.25 units from the center of the head to the outside of the furthest antler.Therefore:11 inches= 106.25XX = .103529411........156.25X = 16.18 inchesAssuming the buck is symmetrical and that I correctly judged the center of the head we have a 32"+ buck! That's a big buck!
