I agree about the Garmin; I have one but never bring it because I always know where I'm at in the woods and it didn't cross my mind. The photo is the way it is because when I'm alone, I find that is easiest with the self timer to ensure a decent picture while fitting myself in the frame but still showcase the trophy to long arm a bit. Plus, I like trophy photo's that really let you see the details of the animal. I'm always fighting time and try to get at least one good one. I don't have a good pic of the other side because while he dropped instantly (Sako 85 in 300 WSM topped with Ziess 4.5x14) he fell on his side off the ridge and snapped a 2-3" cheater on the rocks before lodging on a blowdown. It was still attached and I wrapped it up for the pack out. Can't wait until next year.

Highhunter, thats a great buck... Looks like some real cool country you got him in there... I know you really work your butt off on the high hunt and in the general season... glad it all worked out for ya after all your hard work this year on the high hunt!!

Well done highhunter, I love the height of that rack. Sorry about all the drama with your hunting partner. I would have only needed about 0.1 seconds to decide that was a shooter. :chuckle:

I'm glad I didn't pass him up. I've never shot a monster but I've seen them and I do know that I never will if I don't think before I pull the trigger. He materialized out of nowhere and I was exposed on a rock outcrop and knew I had to be quick before I got busted. Attached is a buck my bro ran into less than a week before the high hunt opened. It's approx. 100 yards away on full zoom and my brother was shaking. He said the profile was more impressive but didn't get the pic. I used my multi season tag on him and was looking forward to chasing whitetail and blacktails later on.

You were running through the woods, stripped down to your underwear?  :yike:  And your friend was getting further and further away?  No *censored*?  Geez, I wonder why?
