Arrow choice

I have cedar,  hunt with aluminum 2016's and am now switching to Grizzlystik carbon... SO all the above!  Switched to grizzlystik for the increased weight and so far like them.

Aluminum Easton 2213 arrows with 125 grain Thunderheads. No bloody ones yet but maybe this year.

went from alum to carbon then back to alum. 550 grains at 256 ft per sec. if it didnt pass through it broke what ever bone it hit. bigger and alittle slower but more forgiving,and more forgiving means more good shots.

Beman MFX microdiameter 340's with blazer vanes and 100gr G5 Montecs. I'm really sold on the microdiameter arrows.

Carbon, bent too many aluminum ones target shooting.  Also seem to be a little more flexible (not in the bendy way) for a variety of draw weights, like shooting after an injury or for a new shooter starting at lesser draw weight.

Probably more cedar arrow shooters out there than aluminum

carbon express maxima hunters there the tuffest i found shot one a dozen times with a muzzy 75 grain broadhead through 3/4'' playwood never failed. just had to redo the flething about every other time.

Great feedback. 

I just got my bow back from the shop and am eager to try it out this weekend. I bought a set of Beeman ICS Hunters with Blazers. Paired w/100 grain tips they weigh in at 436 gr.

With the bow weight set at 70lb. this should be like shooting rockets compared to my teenage bow at 45 lb.

Missed the poll but going to throw in my  .  I still shoot alumi's 2213's with 125 grian wasp camloks.  Of course my compound is a PSE Fireflight from the mid 80's set to 78 pounds.

I like when I shoot next to the carbon boys at the range...tic...tic...tic....thhuwaaack...tic..tic

18 deer, 4 elk, 20 or so ducks, 15 or so geese several yotes and a bunch of fool hens.  I figure if it ain't broke why fix it ( I did have to fix the string this year, dang thing broke strands only lasted 20 years! cheap crap!

That's a lot of energy and a heavy head for 2213's (resulting is less spine assuming a near full length arrow).  Have you tried 2215 or 2216's out of your bow?  You'd likely achieve better arrow flight and accuracy, and a bit more KE.  Can't argue your success, just curious...

Good catch, 2213's is what I was shooting out of my recurve until it delam'd this year.  Try 2317's for the compound with the 125 gr heads.  Speakin of which I think I will make a thread on a new stick bow advise, think about going to a longbow instead of a recurve for birds.
