Huge Two point
« on: November 17, 2009, 05:02:29 PM »
Just wanted to see if anyone else has seen the monster two point buck that is hanging out by the Vernita bridge. He looks to me like hes a solid 27" wide and his bases are as big as a soda can. He does have about three inch eyeguards so hes technically not a two point but you know what I mean. His forks are huge. If you go that way take a camera in case you see him. I dont think anyone will kill him because hes hanging out on the wildlife refuge.

I drive by there quite often and have not seen him, where about is he? I always have a camera with me and would like to take a picture if I can spot him.

If your heading eastbound. You turn right after going over the bridge. Then about 400 yards up the highway there is a pull-out that has a sign with info about the nuclear reactor on it. He was right below that sign.

I'll be driving by there on my way home for Thanksgiving break on Saturday, I'll make sure I have my camera handy and I'll glass for a few.

I got a look at that buck on my way home!  What a bruiser!   :IBCOOL:

When I first drove by there I watched down towards the river, and about a quarter of a mile from the reactor sign (coming from Othello), I spotted four deer feeding in the sage right outside the brush against the river.  I pulled off at the reactor sign and then drove back up the road to where I could see them.  As I passed slowly I honked once and he threw his head up.

WOW!  He had super mass and I could see eyeguards with my naked eye from about 250 yards.  He looked taller than he was wide to me, so if he was 27" wide, holy smokes!

I got up to the next turnaround and fished my camera out so I'd be ready to snap a picture on the way by again.  When I drove by again though I could just see one ass in the brush, apparently the horn spooked them off. . . Thought for sure they'd be used to traffic and it wouldn't bother them.  :bash: I snapped a picture on the fly anyways, hoping the one deer that was in the picture was the buck, but unfortunately it was one of the does.  :'(
