I dont think these ones are really heavy, picking them up they are really light actually.
there was a couple different styles of chem pants there, one had a heavy as hell weight to them with velcro straps and HUGE friggin bell bottom pantlegs, these that i got were straight legs with a zipper and a velcro flap on the lowers.

I washed them more than 50 cycles and got nearly all of the charcoal out actually, the water only turned a dirty shade of gray, like pants that may have been worn digging a muddy ditch.
they weight less than my snow pants lol!
they will be great for sitting around camp, hanging out at the blind or slow atalking an animal that doesnt know he is going to die soon.

Will be heading back to the surplus store soon for regular BDU pants in the next couple weeks. im on a mission to replenish my outdoor gear that was burned up in our shed when Pugetsound Energy reconnected the power to the back house causing the electrical to short out and blow up the neighbors shed and part of their home.
Taking longer to replace my stuff than i thought it would, PSE has yet to even offer reimbursement of anything. and Two sources concluded them as the major fault of the fire.
TANNERITE needed for target practice on opening day of each hunting season.

I would also add that they will act as a scent blocker to block fresh scent from your body.  As long as the deer don't mind you smelling like an Army surplus store, that charcole should work like a charm... :chuckle:
Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

Phish, what size are you??? I have a ton of extra stuff from when I retired, might have some that may fit you, you can have them, they are just sitting around. I know you lost everything in the fire. Let me know and I will look through and see what I got...

I also have a supply of military camo, and I could give you some if the size is right.  I think I have several extra pants and maybe a shirt or two of Desert, 1 extra of the digital and a couple of extra pairs of the winterweight woodland.  I could dig through the boxs and see what else I have if the Size is right.

Get er shrunk a couple more sizes and I'll send you some of this stuff.  I think I have one of the desert and a winter weight woodland in 34 or 36 I will have to dig around and find them.  I packed them away because they were to dang big.

Measure up, I'll ship you down a couple sets, sucks you lost your gear to a fire.  Don't go by weight, I'm 240 pounds but wear 34's.  At 5-11 my momma says I'm "big boned"

Phis-  Again to echo the others, the chem pants seem to be light right now cause they are clean and washed, wait till you start sweating they will feel like lead in no time.  20 years wearing that stuff, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.  Yea it is charcoal but it not exactly the same as the scent loc stuff.  This material was designed for one purpose and one purpose only - absorb and attempt to neutralize military grade chemicals, from VX to various blood agents.  Wish I would have read this before, recently gave 10 complete sets of BDU's to the Goodwill store in Maple Valley for their dispersal...  I'll check, think I got a GI issue Gortex Jacket (new) you can have of the same woodland pattern.  I live near Kent and am always near the Hockey rink on James if your interested, give me a PM.  Mike

Flashbacks of MOPP 4. :yike: :yike: :yike: :yike:

Had a CO that just had to put us in MOPP 3 during the hottest part of the day 85-90+deg, as soon as the sun went down and the winds picked up, back to BDU's.

That charcol lining will rub off on everything so ware a cheap base layer.

grow to hate them yes you will......
