Took out my new Springfield XDM 3.8 to the range the other day....sweet handgun!
Cabelas is offering $40.00 off any new XDM in stock this month.  Shot great right
out of the box!

Heard it is coming in .45 soon!

I think it was Wholesale Sports at the Puyallup Sportmans show that had a display with a few XDs in it at pretty good prices. I was very interested in the compact .40 they had.
Do any of you have the compact or sub-compact?
I am curious how they feel, does the grip feel short?

I thought about trading my Ruger M77 II in 7mm Mag for one.

I have the XD40 Subcompact.
Love it.
The extended mag feels the hand no problem.

when the xds came out i shot allot of them and i have always owned revolvers and thought i would never carry a pistol for personal protection them the xdm came out so i bought mine in 40sw 16+1 the thing is a tack driver i put 350 rounds threw it without 1 problem so now i am about 500 rds in and have been carrying it as one of my carry guns for about 1yr now great guns and i trust my life to it as well.

I have a compact XD45 with Crimson Trace grips and my wife has an XD40 subcompact.  Both are fantastic shooters and the compact model suits even my big mitts.  The subcompact is a little small but with the 12 round mag and Pierce extensions I don't have a problem with it either.  I like the way the XD feels as compared to even the 3rd gen Glock.  Just as tough but not quite as utilitarian in my opinion.
