I sure wish someone would get out and kill something....
This isn't the only post recently that seems to be deteriorating due to people getting a little "testy",,..

I talked to the game department yesterday afternoon. They were going to send the packets out probably today. They were surprised the permits were already received since they come from a "subcontractor". We should get them soon. The gal I spoke to stated there was a chance they might even get them out yesterday but probably today.

not meaning to be testy, i just don't understand all the guys that put in for these hunts and then when they draw them they are just blown away at what they entail. if your taking the time to apply and planing on taking the time to hunt then why not take the time to inform yourself about the tag if you don't know any thing about it, guys dont do it and then the tag goes to waste cuz they dont hunt it. that's all, just seeing it allot. really im fine with guys not hunting the kapowsin tag as long as i have one, more for me. but i know a lot of guys that didnt draw it that would go after that tag pretty hard

I wasn't necessarily referring to you, I have been noticing it on a lot of posts lately...
but I see your point,
however with the odds of drawing what they are one or two guys that don't use their tags is not really going to influence it that much..I mean it's like saying if someone doesn't buy a lottery ticket, I would have won....

bonecrusher,

You're assuming that because people don't have ALL of the information that they will not hunt. Making statements about people you don't know based on assumptions is....    less than helpful. I may have reacted poorly this morning since I hadn't had my second cup of coffee yet, but as annoyed as you are about people being informed I am equally annoyed by un-necessary and arrogant comments.

We may not have ever guessed that guests would be limited to family (I still think that's odd), but I assure you that we are excited to get everything we can out of this opportunity.

So how would you suggest to "inform" oneself when the permit areas are new or to keep abreast of changes on the old units? You can't get a straight answer from F&W and good luck getting ahold of anyone with permit knowledge with the timber companies.

I have called, written e-mails, even talked to workers in the field....
I don't care anymore what info they send us, I will be hunting on Weyerhauser land for Bear and Turkeys from Highway 6 north, From Elk Creek at Doty and the 7000 Mainline East, Garrard Creek south to Lincoln Creek and  west of Bunker Creek, unless told otherwise....
I already have a couple good spots, and am going to look at a couple more tommorrow, Saturday, and Sunday...(mon, tues, wed, also) and THURSDAY ! :archer:
