No I would not. I could buy a tag in Montana or Idaho with the $500 instead.

Ya i would but i dont believe that anyone would do a hunt like that for that amount of cash... imo anyway. Most Outfitters that do blacktail hunts are around 6 times that much and definetly dont have a no kill no pay. Alot of the guys especially doin them in california are like closer to 5000 with trophy fees. Sounds way to good to be true. But if it was then yes id be in  :)

No way I'd pay that for blacktail.   I'm not sure what good a guide does you for blacktail in washington- they don't herd, don't pattern like a whitetail, and don't flock to private land.  It's not like eastern wa where much of the mulie and wt deer pop. is on private ag land and you can pay to play on some farmers quarter section of wheat stubble.  Blacktail are all over public land and timber co land- so you aren't paying for access.  I doubt he scouts specific deer - he might.... but that's a tremendous feat for blacktail.... and if he IS that good, then he could charge way more- which makes me wonder. :twocents:

This seems to be the going rates for a blacktail hunt around here:

Is this an official guided hunt or something off of craigslist?

Echo many sentiment's here, it would be hard to believe an established guide would offer any guarantee on public lands in Washington. At any rate, if you've harvested blacktail in that size range already, it might not be worth it to you, depends again on your own goals.

I could see possibly offering a guaranteed hunt if it was on private land where nobody else could hunt.   :dunno:

if you're into guided hunts, $500 for a 120" blacktail seems like a really good price, especially if it's guaranteed. I would look hard at the guide's credentials though and ask for references.
