Five more weeks from our elk area
« on: June 07, 2010, 05:26:18 PM »
Unfortunatly few elk pictures, but they're still there. The cameras have been in place for about five weeks. We were pleased with our first few pictures, one of a very nice bear.

To help reference the size of this bear, we over-laid a cropping of myself walking in almost the same spot. But I was about 10 feet closer to the camera, I’m 6-1 and 300 lbs, this is a good sized bear. She has a very nice coat having just awakened for spring.

A bear checking out the camera.

Yup, six more weeks till bear season....

One moment you're flying south for the winter, then - BANG - gravy.

Yup, we rubbed a little bacon grease on the tree. We were hoping it would entice a few interesting photos, never expected a tree climbing coyote.

If you look closely behind the bear peel you can see cow and calf mountain bikes...one is laying down in the road; the other one appears to be feeding along the grassy edge  :chuckle:.

Very cool pics!!  That bear is STOUT!  :o
