probably won't get out to catch salmon but I'm pretty stoked about the high water for walleye fishing
the ripping current really shrinks down the area where they can be. It can be hard to fish but well worth it. One of our best spots requires high water, In fact it's only been high enough twice in the last 3 years and the first time we hooked like 60+ fish , the second we hooked 40+. If only i had more time...sorry for Hi-jacking thread, back to salmon....
why would the salmon be affected by the high water so much i agree with bluebulls for water level for other game species, such as bass and all. makes for better fishing.i haven't looked at the the dam counts lately but wouldn't all this high water bring more fish up or do you think it would be better when it starts to drop?i'll be up at alta lake next weekend doing some bassing and salmon below wells... hopefully like you said the fishing is good.
Water is pouring over grand coulee into Rufus pretty good..Lake Roosevelt even has a pretty good current. Would all of this current make fish come up river faster or slower? I heard there is a few thousand over Rock Island Dam.
just makes more ground to cover to find the fish, which wont be a problem with a superbait and Super dippin sauce!
