I was trying to steer her toward the 7-08 also.  Perfect cartridge for a lightweight deer/elk rifle.  I will be getting one for my wife one of these days.  (Although, I will probably be using it more than her :chuckle:)

i would love to have a 7mm-08 model 700 mountain rifle for putting in the scabbard. Great ballistics for what it is. Who am I kidding i can never decide what i want. There are to many options out there.

If money is not a concern you may check out http://cooperfirearms.com/ they will make one in almost any caliber your looking for, I highly recommend the 257 Roberts. Their guns are tack drivers, you won't be disappointed.

I am sure that a cooper rifle is a great rifle but i cant get over the ugly action of the gun. The stocks are great pieces though. Just depends on what you like i guess.

Phool, They are sure some nice looking guns for sure, but I don't think I could take it outdoors. If I scratched it I do believe I would expire right there :chuckle:

No.  I got a little while yet.  I didn't get drawn for spring bear.  I will probably wait a couple months and make sure I find the right one.

Your not going to scratch the gun, maybe the stock. Even if this happens a stock is easily repaired or replaced, you shouldnt limit out a gun because your worried about scratches.
