Aero Outdoor Blinds??
« on: July 13, 2010, 07:21:50 AM »
I was interested to see if anyone has purchased the Aero Outdoor blinds.  I am considering purchasing one.

I have hunted out of them but probably wont buy my own.  For the type of hunting I do it dont make much sense for me.
Very nice blinds and properly brushed they are great.

I have several. I still have one out in Burlington if you want to see one set up.

I could probably make the same.  The challenge has been getting the plastic mesh in the tan color.  You almost have to buy it in bulk from China.  I will have to take you up on the offer to check it out possibly next week.

If you find a cheap connection on mesh in Tan, let us all know.  I think you would have to have it die cut yourself.  I couldn't find any.   :dunno:

I've hunted out of his blinds several times and also built several by copying his design using 1/2 emt and a bender.  He usually runs a sales special in the summer on them and if I were to do it again, I would buy his.  I searched all over for the tan mesh and couldnt find it, we ended up buying from him.

I'll see if I can find some pictures and post.  If you get down to the Monroe area and want to stop by and take a look, let me know.

These outfits that make the saftey meshes come out of China.  You pretty much have to buy a ton of it and then they will make what you want.  I have axcess to benders, welders, belt material for the hinges in the front.  The challenge is the webbing.

I was able to find some of the mesh in green from Gemplers, looks like the same stuff.

One of my partners talked with a painter who thought he could paint this stuff with a special paint, haven't talked to him to find out if he tried it yet.

Here's a few pics:

This is basically a 3 man blind, I also built a 4 man blind.  If you've got private ground and can leave them set up, its a great way to hunt.  The 3 man we built so it's portable and can be set up anywhere.

Looks good.  If you don't mind what did the mesh run you from Aero?

We built these in 06 so I dont recall exactly, he sells a 50' role for $150 now but I think we paid a little less than that.  We bought enough to build several blinds, including a couple of lower profile goose blinds.

I saw the aero blinds at the sportsmans show, I think NSW was sharing a booth with them. The blinds seemed like they were pretty decent for what they are.  Good temporary setup for areas where you can't build a permenant blind.
