I cut my teeth chasing those dinky mule deer in that country. The 24-29" bucks are easy to come by, it's those 30"+ I can't seem to knock down?

How about this 142 dink?
Quote from: jjhunter on July 15, 2010, 08:25:50 PMHow about this 142 dink?Nice one! Seen a few that size in the 142. My huntin' buddy got one that big back in '03, sneaky sob that whitetail was. Took us 3 tries to get him. I never got one that big in the 142 myself. 3x3 and a 3x4. We were more successful at tagging big whitetails in gmu 166. The whitetail that my lab kicked up in the 142 was a huge freakin 6x7 non-typical. Of all places, we found him on some green sign crp land. I've no idea how he lived long enough to get that big in the 142. Must of had a big rock to crawl under.

That is why the second weekend of rifle is so good to hunt for WT. The bird hunters (dogs) are the only ones who can get those big whiteys up and vulnerable.
