I have an Outlaw, I added a fire box to mine, I only use wood charcoal in mine, their a great unit and I have been pleased with mine.

I have one. it is the split model with the gas on one side and the charcoal on the other. i put the smoker box on it and it works killer. you just really have to keep an eye on it because the temps are hard to keep consistent.

Use the search function and You will find a bunch of mods these guys have done.You can get them to work very well from what I have heard.
