Bro's first bear down
«
on:
August 22, 2010, 06:03:24 PM »
We went out Friday and seen 16 different bears. Never in my life have I seen anything like what we seen Friday bears were everywhere every time we would decide we were going to shoot one another bear would show itself and change our minds. eventually a chocolate blond color phased fed over the hill and my bro took 150 yard shot. He hit it a little back on the first shot and he ran over the hill into the next ravine. We got to the spot he shot him and the bear was bedded about 100 yards away he took another shot and hit him in the back of the head dropping him instantly. Its a great trophy for a first bear, it will make a really pretty rug but I'm pretty sure the skull is toast we could hear bone grinding together when we touched his head. I left my camera at his house so I will try and post a picture or two tomorrow.

That was the reason we took him, he was sweet looking, out of the 16 bears we seen 6 color phased and this one had the most character out of them all. I have been trying for a color phased for the last 4 years and have not been successful yet and I would have taken this one but I wanted my bro to see what it feels like to take a bear. I had chances after he shot his to but the dam terrain is tough one bear is a all day chore getting it out. Going out again in the next couple weeks and this time I'm shooting.
