Sitka's New "Forest" Pattern ?

Anybody Get anything in the new Forest pattern? I'm wanting to pull the trigger on a set of 90% but would like to hear a review if anybody has one. It looks like a decent pattern for hunting the westside Cascade units. I thought the other pattern had to much brown for the wetside of the Cascades. If anybody has these patterns let me know how you like it, thanks.

I don't have that pattern, but I like it better than the brown.  I do own the MM pattern as well as the Mossy Oak.  I like them for the East side.

I have the opti fade.  Doesn't match most of the locations I hunt, but I am not going to split the bill for another set.  Good clothes though.

-Reading on this pattern its designed for hunting in treestands in the mid west. I just dont know how versitile its going to be with all the white or grey or whatever it has in it. I ordered a jacket and pants and Im thinking about sending it back and getting optifade, just seems to be more versitile a pattern for are mountains and brush. idk..

I just ordered the 90% pants and jacket in the optifade open country.  I think the forrest looks good but I hunt the westside only for archery elk.  During September, everything is still pretty brown on this side of the mountains.  I do really like the 90% pants and jacket , we'll see how it holds up during season though.

I looked at some at CAbelas, too dark IMO though there is some contrasting white.  I try to avoid "Mossy Blob type patterns"

All of the US military forces use a variety of Optifade digital pattern.  While there is no 'Universal pattern'  that one comes pretty close

The important thing with camo is to not look like a person.  I've never noticed the particular pattern to be important.  in fact, 90% of the critters I've killed I was wearing carhartt work pants and a flannel shirt

Don't overthink it too much.  For what it's worth, all the "science" behind Optifade was conducted on large flat swatches of the pattern in controlled conditions.  Once the pattern is cut up and sewn into clothing, then turned into a 3D form (as it wraps around your body) all the science is out the window, technically speaking.

All that really matters with camoflauge is its ability to break up your form with contrast.  The color makes little difference but a pattern like Mossy Oak break up just blogs at a distance.  The Sitka forest pattern isn't bad but those greens won't really look any different to deer & elk over the browns of the original Optifade.

The marketability of camo is a whole different topic.  It has to look good to hunters in order to sell.  But if you like it, by all means buy it.
