Marlin Xl7 30-06?

I  am looking into buying a new rifle and i have herd good and bad things about this gun so i want to see what you guys think of it or if you know of any other great 30-06 with a low $ amount? :dunno:

See if someone you know has one that would let you shoot it, if you like it then get one! Bang for buck I think Savage is about as good as it gets as well as being an actual well built rifle (ignoring cost) but neither of these is world altering in price, if you end up not liking what you first get then it isn't hard to unload it and get something different!
The reason there are so many Ruger upgrades is because they're necessary.

I've got one, and it shoots great.  Within 1 1/2 inches at 200 yards with factory ammo.
The only difference between a butt kisser and a brown noser is depth perception.
