Lake Roosevelt "might need spellcheck"

Anybody ever hunt on Roosevelt up around the ferry (Gifford) at all? had any luck? One would think it would be good,big water, good rest area, close to Canada for that migratory trip. :dunno:

I think I heard something about needing a res. license for up there but I could be wrong...

Only if you cross the half way point, just like fishing. All I know is when I used to hunt in GMU121 for deer there was alot of Geese and Ducks everywhere, I mean sick amounts! if nobody hunts this, that's why the amount of birds, maybe it's to far for some of the 425'rs, and it never freezes!!!! I'll have to try it, I'll post successful pics L8TR.

what's a 425er?  I've been thinking of heading that way for a couple years- now that I have a canopy on the pickup to have a place to sleep w/o hauling the trailer all that way, I may give it a whirl this year.  It's time to head out to Sunnydell in Sequim to get tuned up.  Going scouting this weekend-  Happy New Year!

Oh- I get it.  Sometimes I'm slow.  It is a haul, that's for sure.  It's too bad the weekends are only two days.  We should reverse the order between work and play.

There is a lot of private property up there. We found a few state and blm land sections up there. Tons of whitetails. We were up there in the spring turkey hunting. We camped just north of where the ferry is in the first campgrounds. We got to know a few people up there on the Addy-Gifford road. Nice people. All we did was drive the roads around the area and if we saw animals we would go and talk to the land owners and almost every one we talked to gave us permission to hunt there property. But there was this one blond that didn't want anyone shooting her deer. thought we were there to shoot them all. but when we told her we were turkey hunting she got all excited and told us to get all our friends and shoot all the turkeys on her property. She said they were cool to have around for awhile but once she started feeding them they pooed on everything and wanted them gone.    :chuckle:
