Gone nocturnal?
« on: October 09, 2010, 11:27:38 AM »
It seems the bucks here have gone dark on us.  We have not seen the one we call Tall Boy for about 4 days.  Two new bucks showed up though on the trsil cam the last two nights.  The second one, with brow tines, showed up within a 10 minute window of time both nights.  Also had some other visitors, only two left the scene as one decided to stay in the trap by the porch.

These two bucks are deffinite pigs for our island deer.  Hopefully they will be more day active during the late part of rifle as the rut picks up.

For here, they are both toads.  Just started with the allstock, starting to run out of apples.  The does and fawns keep snarfing them down.  We only put out about 3 quarts a night.  I need to figure out a way to get these boys coming in during daylight....

First time I've seen these two all year, lots of old apple trees in the neighbor's properties.

Blackies are always nocturnal it seems. Its a waste of time to hunt them in this dense undergrowth here where they live on the west side. I say we just nuke em. You know......kinda like fishing with dynamite. :P

Two bucks I don't recognize and one nice one returns, all in the dark.  Of course!

I think I'm glad to be heading to the eastside for the opener...  Good luck all!
