Unique Idaho Bull
« on: October 14, 2010, 05:33:49 PM »
For those that like to see pics, no matter who harvested it.

This bull was sitting in the back of truck by my house this afternoon. Really unique 8x5. If it were my bull I'd have gotten a shoulder mount of this bull but apparently not everyone feels the same. I LOVE the non-typicals!!!

Sweet bull!
I passed up a 6X2 in MT this year that looked a lot like that. Every time I look at the footage I regret it. :bash:
Ill have to pull a still shot off the video one of these days and post it.

Yea, so I read. I'd have a tough time passing him up myself. Again, I am kind of partial to the funky racks! :chuckle:

I think that would have made a general elk hunter very happy

I am the same way! before we left for the trip I even said "I want a goofy bull" I passed a 6x0 on the first day and I said "if he had just had something goofy on the other side i would have shot him" and yet when that awesome bull stopped at 30 yards broadside, I was to focused on the 350" bull 200 yards up the hill from me :bash:

LOL....choices, choices my friend! I can't fault ya for holding out for a 350" bull though. Tough choice for sure.

Awe yes, but the moral of the story is the ending. I ended up having to take a second trip back to MT just to tag a 5 point.. Take the cookies when the are passed, TAKE THEM! :bash:  HAHA

I know that feeling all to well.  My first Elk trip, I wanted to get the biggest and best for my 1st Elk.  Passed up a 4X5 & 5X5 to come away with a barely legal 3X3.  Now its all about the meat.  If its legal, its down because you never know if you will get another shot at one.  Its OK to just hang out in the woods hunting for bear or helping scout for my friends once I tag out.  Live and learn.

From the looks of all the crap in the back of the truck, I don't think that guy cares much about anything.

I'd have shot the bull in the truck or the one in the pics in a heart beat.  I like ugly racks.
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
If I ageed with you, then we'd both be wrong.
