Life Size Color Phase Black bear (MNTaxidermy)
« on: October 18, 2010, 09:13:09 PM »
Sent this Life Size Color Phase out the door Saturday for it's new home. Bear was roughly 200lbs and had an excellent coat. Perfect candidate for a Life Size. You will have to excuse the messy shop in the back ground.  I didn't get a chance to get pictures of him til the day he left and the customer had a long way to drive to take the Bear to his cabin.  So I took the pic's in the shop instead of setting up a back ground or outside.

Leaving for his new home!

At his new home.

What does a lifesize like that weigh? Someday when I get a cat I would like to lifesize. I have the perfect place on the "wall of death" as my wife calls it.

What is on his nose in the third pic?  Has he been doing a little of the "booger sugar"?  Great looking mount by the way!

Very nice.  I really like the closed mouth on bear mounts and rugs.
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

That mount was not all that heavy.  I moved it around the shop quite a bit while it was drying and during finnishing by myself.  Including lifting it up on my work bench to do the base work.  I would say no more than 75lbs I would imagine.  It is kinda hard to guage it because it is kinda awkward lifting it.  So between 60 and 75 lbs.

Beautiful bear!   You did a wonderful job on it.   I really like the closed-mouth, natural look.

That's a nice looking mount. It looked bigger in the shop than in the last picture in the corner. Blends nice with the furnishings.
