The only negative thing I associate with walmart is that a lot of the things they sell come from China. Other than that I don't know why people seem to think walmart is bad. I'd buy a gun there if they had a good sale on a gun I needed.

I have a problem with walmart because where i live they tent to put a lot of good business's out of business. They are the leading importer of foreign goods in the USA and i just flat out dont like the store. They sue employee's for using there medical benefits. Typically they have deals because they are second hand quality. Just my opinion and they will never get any of my money. More power to ya though if you enjoy shopping at the store.

When I get ready to shop I try Cabelas, Sportsman, or any other store but It always seems that Wal Mart has the same item but at a lower cost. I am able to shop at the PX at Ft Lewis and McCord and Walmart is always the best deal. They also have a huge selection of everything on their wed site with free shipping to one of their store. I just recieved a Okuma 75 Avenger baitcaster from Walmart and they beat every store in the USA of price. I have saved at least $500.00 this year at Walmart that means now I can get that new coyote gun for Xmas and it to will probably come from, need I say it WALMART. Oh but the way their prescription drugs also are the cheapest.

Both Remington and Wal-Mart are American corporations.
A debate about the whether Wal-Mart or Cabelas has the better cheap goods made in China?

I was in Hawaii the day the first mainland retailer opened there, I believe it was the K-Mart in Kahului.  The locals were elated and still are.  Competition is good.  Plus you can get your Hawaiian hunting license at the Wal-Mart when the efficient state offices are closed.  Accidently get invited to a boar hunt?  They have some gear that you might not have packed on the plane.

Good point Little Dave. Most everything I see in Cabelas is made in China. I still quite a few articles of clothing I purchased from Cabelas several years ago in which the tags say "Made in USA." That was one of the reasons I used to buy from Cabelas. But not anymore. Might as well go to Wal Mart for the China made stuff.

Sorry just have to put it in here. So you like our local gaverments paying Walmart to build? You like our local goverment paying out thousands of dollars to provide medical assistance and food stamps because Walmart tells there employees to USE the system? Walmart is a bad corporation that is dragging the lower middle class into poverty!!

My wife worked at Costco at one point.... I think it was a superior place to work... That said no one FORCES you to go work for "The Devil" if you don't want to.... Life is all about choices. If you can't find another job where your at...MOVE! its still a choice even if you don't think it is.... If you ask any super successful person they will tell you the reason you are not successful is SELF IMPOSED RESTRICTIONS!
Don't bitch about being treated like a sheep when your acting like one.... Be the wolf not the sheep.  :twocents:
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

Since we are on the subject. I got this e-mail yesterday

Regardless of how one feels about Wal-Mart there is a lesson to be learned here. I have never seen a group so organized as Wal-Mart was when/after Hurricane Ivan hit Pensacola September 16, 2004. They had truck loads of large generators staged outside the area and then moved them in and had stores opened within 16 hours after the hurricane.

Wal-Mart vs. The Morons

1. Americans spend $36,000,000 at Wal-Mart
Every hour of every day.

2. This works out to $20,928 profit every minute!

3. Wal-Mart will sell more from January 1 to St. Patrick's Day (March 17th) than
Target sells all year.

4. Wal-Mart is bigger than Home Depot + Kroger + Target +Sears + Costco + K-Mart combined.

5. Wal-Mart employs 1.6 million people, is the world's largest private employer,
and most speak English.

6. Wal-Mart is the largest company in the
history of the world.

7. Wal-Mart now sells more food than
Kroger and Safeway combined, and keep
in mind they did this in only fifteen years.

8. During this same period, 31 big supermarket chains sought bankruptcy.

9. Wal-Mart now sells more food than any
other store in the world.

10. Wal-Mart has approx 3,900 stores in the
USA   of which 1,906 are Super Centers;
this is 1,000 more than it had five years ago.

11. This year 7.2 billion different purchasing experiences will occur at Wal-Mart stores.
(Earth's population is approximately 6.5 Billion.)

12. 90% of all Americans live within fifteen
miles of a Wal-Mart.

You may think that I am complaining,
but I am really laying the ground work for suggesting that MAYBE we should hire the guys who run Wal-Mart to fix the economy.

This should be read and understood by all Americans Democrats, Republicans,
EVERYONE!!

To President Obama and all 535 voting
members of the Legislature,

It is now official you are ALL corrupt morons:

A. The   U.S.   Postal Service was established
in 1775. You have had 234 years to get it right
and it is broke.

B. Social Security was established in 1935.
You have had 74 years to get it right
and it is broke.

C. Fannie Mae was established in 1938.
You have had 71 years to get it right
and it is broke.

D. War on Poverty started in 1964.
You have had 45 years to get it right;
$1 trillion of our money is confiscated
each year and transferred to "the poor"
and they only want more.

E.  Medicare and Medicaid were established
in 1965. You have had 44 years to get it right
and they are broke.

F. Freddie Mac was established in 1970.
You have had 39 years to get it right
and it is broke.

G.  The Department of Energy was created in
1977 to lessen our dependence on foreign oil.
It has ballooned to 16,000 employees with
a budget of $24 billion a year and we
import more oil than ever before.
You had 32 years to get it right
and it is an abysmal failure.

You have FAILED in every
"government service" you have shoved
down our throats while overspending our tax dollars.

AND   YOU WANT AMERICANS TO BELIEVE YOU CAN BE TRUSTED WITH A GOVERNMENT-RUN HEALTH CARE SYSTEM???

Well since this thread has been hijacked to a fair-theewell  :chuckle:  I'll toss in my  :twocents: .

Why is Wal-Mart evil?  because they have been successfull?  Because the Union's have not been able to get a foothold in the stores?

Because they sell stuff made in China?  Show me a multiproduct store that does not sell stuff from oversea's?

You know why they can sell stuff so cheap?  Bulk purchase and streamlined shipping.  Keeping the Unions from jacking up overhead costs.

Do I feel bad for the other stores when a Wally World moves in, sure I do.  But when I can go grocery shopping at Wally World, purchase the same brands that I purchase at Safeway, Food Pavilion, Haggens etc for at a Minimum HALF my monthly food bill, why can I bitch about that?  I hit the Local Food Pavilion as I was close to pick up a few things the other day.  I about crapped myself on how much more it cost.

As far as the employee's are concerned I imagine they are pretty damn happy to have a job.  If I ever lost my job you can bet I would be heading down to the local Wally World to drop in an App instead of sucking off the tit of the state unemployment system.

Sometimes I think people just have to have a villain and its usually the top dog who gets targeted, no matter what they do.
