Blow guns are so fun! My cousin and I always had em when we were kids. I remember a fly landed on the tv at his mom and dads house. He took a crack at it and ended up taking a chip the size of a dime out of the tv screen. His mom wasn't very happy.

At the risk of getting flamed... this just seems like a bad thing to post on the internet. Excellent fuel for anyone who wants to portray hunters as thoughtless killers of wildlife. There was no point in this kill except, well, nothing. It just kinda seems gross and gratuitous to me.

Nobody said he was a hunter. Soldiers are trained to kill in combat. Just honing their skills.

I am a hunter, Archery since I was 11.  Have never used pins or peepsite or release, and it does sharpen my skills looking down the aluminum shaft of a blow gun instead of an arrow trying to take out things at 10-20 yards.  These are nuisance birds in Iraq they have actually taken down f-16's by flying into the intake.  There is actually a program here to go out and shoot as many birds that you can with pellet guns.  I am however very busy I work everyday 12 hours, so I kill them at work whenever possible.  Like I said in the post I stomped it as soon as I could get to it.  I would never shoot a sparrow in the US, but since I was asked to kill them here I have no problem doing so.  I can take down the picture if you would like dont matter to me

We got our bows sent over to q west when I was there in 2009  and would shoot pigeons and rabbits ..   but we ate them...lol.  I believe there's a post somewhere on here...  then again ...  I caught h-pilori in 2006 or 2007 from eating w the w bedawin muktars so just had to. Watch for rabies....lol.  happy hunting...  ps- the right reels can get number 2-8 shot if ya get far enough away from the flag pole to do some puddle suck jump. Shooting...  so I hear ;-)

As far as Huggy McTreeface or whomever's comment.  Do a little more research and you will find that sparrows are an exotic in the US and overpopulated.  Hence if you were to open a hunting regulations book you will notice that there is no license required to hunt them and no limit on them.  The same population issues are experienced in the middle east and yes they are an exotic there too since they are Asian Sparrows.  As far as the shots, exceptional work and I hope there are more photos to come!  I am glad that I am stuck on duty only 1 day a week right now allowing me to spend a little time on here looking at pictures and comments.  I could not imagine being the guy (refraining from name calling) that has nothing better to do than go to a hunting forum and criticize photos of an animal legally taken.  Then refer to the anti hunting community.  Get a life!   Once again, great shooting and thanks for your service!

When we were allowed pellet guns I ate 1 rabbit, and  several collar doves.   Wood pigeons that are Migratory that I ate several of them as well.  I never ate the Rock pigeons because they live on base all the time.  We have some philipinos that work with us and they made adobo out of them and they are still here so the rock's must have been safe.
