I had him about 29.  Just wishful thinking on him.  He was a cool deer.   I got damn near close enough to measure him myself.   I thought maybe his flare made it.  Its always hard to tell in pics, but he was a large deer.  I should have taken pics of his tracks.  Looked like an elk.

What a stud three point, I have a shed from one similar to that but I am pretty sure he would have been many many miles from where that pic was taken.

I would say he is really close to 30".  Like to see him grow a 4th point next year!

In the second photo the aspect is not quite perfect, but I think this deer might make the 30" mark. A mulies ears are somewhere between 22" and 24" when alert. This guys antlers are well past his ear tips. At his widest point he's gotta be darn close if not over.  A darn nice buck. I really enjoy your photos.

Thank you.   I generally call a deers ears 23 on a big one, and 22 if 4 years old or so.  I think this guy had 24 inch ears.  I just love him.  He probably won't grow a 4th.  I wish he had a little more moss on his bases, like basket.   He had his own harem and none of the other big boys cared to bother him.

Chainsaw is in back.   I bet there is a lot of stuff down.   Timing should have them traveling a lot.  Many of the does are covered.  The NE deer are in between cycles right now.  Bucks are solitary and out sleeping.  Funny.

10-4 My saw will be in the back too.  Couldn't have happened at a better time.  Should be a little easier to get wood for camp

There was a buck that wintered near Wenatchee for a lot of years that was a really wide 3 and about the 4th or 5th winter I watched him he had grown a 4th point.  That buck ended up pushing 40" in his prime.
