Typically the older bulls drop first, as early as mid Feb. in some states.  Ive seen a lot of deer with new lil spikes starting to protrude. My boss owns a resort at Lake Quinalt, he said most of the bulls had dropped there

There are 3 BIG Bulls hanging around my house in Cle Elum that have lost their horns and have about 4 inches of new growth just below their ears.  One in particular has bases about the size of Chilli cans.  He's gonna turn out to be a monster this year.

I guess there was also a 4 by 5 that was hanging with them that hadn't dropped yet, that was as of last week.

I saw two really nice branched bulls last night that both still had their racks. Didn't have my spotting scope, jut binocs but they were both probably medium 5 or 6 pts. It was interesting because they were both standing within 100 yards of the spot I shot a bull on opening day last year....hope they stay around.............Les

I need to dig out two more photos for you guys.  One is of a big 6x6 on the left, a bull bleeding in the middle from just shedding and a bull on the right that had brows and thirds already growing in velvet.  It was about April 15th.  the other is a big 5x5 recessed with headgear May 15th.  I think Hornseeker was with me with that bull.  That was pre-LF days.  I should probablygo srt through groundhogs garage for those sheds, cause I never found them. :)

I saw 2 rag horns and 1 spike this past weekend in SW washington and they all had there bone. I saw 28 elk and 5 deer,by the looks of the forest and snow it looks like it was a rough winter but the animals looked like they are eating well except for one deer we saw.

Yesterday evening I seen while scouting for bear, I seen 5 different herds of elk.  2 small rags and a one horned spike were still packing, and several of the bigger bulls had a few inchs of growth.  So some are still packing!
